PlayStation All-Stars X Super Smash Bros (Updated) by LeeHatake93 PlayStation All-Stars X Super Smash Bros (Updated) by LeeHatake93
Honestly I'm tired of hearing people bashing Sony for making PlayStation All-Stars. Yes, it's similar to Smash Bros, but the controls, gameplay, and method of earning victory are quite different. I'm a fan of both series and as a firm supporter of Nintendo and Sony, I believe that All-Stars could potentially become the next Smash Bros for Sony players everywhere. Just to show my support, I've thrown this together as an idea of what would happen if Sony and Nintendo collaborated on a game together. For Smash Bros, I only chose 1 character per series as the Nintendo side would overwhelm the picture.
Anyway, enjoy the picture
UPDATE:
#1 Added characters: Kat & Dusty, Emmett Graves, R.O.B., Master Hand, Crazy Hand, Polygon Man
#2 Added characters: Zeus, Isaac Clarke

Would Snake and Raiden be rivals?

STAGE IDEA: A mix of the Battlefield and the rival arena! "The Battle Arena" or "Rival Battlefield"

Sounds pretty not Smash-like at all.

The gameplay is different. In Smash Bros, characters only have four special moves assigned to a single button. In All-Stars, they have 12 special attacks between three buttons. Smash Bros didn't have Final Smashes until Brawl, and each character only gets one. All-Stars introduced Super Moves right away, and each character gets 3. Smash Bros' gameplay revolves around attacking opponents until you get their damage meter high enough to knock them out of the boundaries of the stage, and All-Stars revolves around killing opponents with super moves. Stages in Smash Bros only represent a single franchise, whereas PlayStation All-Stars has stages that cross multiple franchises together. Smash Bros has a 2D side-scrolling adventure mode, All-Stars has a semi-story based arcade mode like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. The list goes on.. The only thing they have in common is that fact that they are fighting games with rosters taken from first-party franchises from their receptive consoles, and feature four-player battles.

Nintendo forbids guns so about half of the SSBB roster are skrewed, Snake is thier only hope and he could probably take on every PSASBR character (except Ratchet, no one can beat Ratchet!)

I know I know, Raiden with his cyborg body hardly
seems fair, but both of them have a history in war.
Snake being an expert in wetwork ops while Jack aka Raiden
was trained as the ultimate killing machine since he was a child.

But that's what will make this battle an interesting one.
Snake's CQC experience against Raiden's killing skills with a blade.

Couldn't agree more.
In fact, I was surprised it took so long for them to make something like this.
I get highly irritated when someone says it's "bwoken" because "if it's a rip-off of SSB, then why can't I play it like SSB?"
To that, I have to ask, how much of a rip-off is it, truly?

I know, right? It's the same concept, but the gameplay is entirely different.
Nintendo's Smash Bros have fairly basic melee attacks, four specials, and as of Brawl, a single Final Smash. A majority of the roster (Mario/Luigi, Link/Young or Toon Link, Captain Falcon/Ganondorf) fight the same, with almost identical attacks. Characters are able to grab opponents and then throw them in any direction. Most of the characters' up attacks are designed for recovery, characters are able to grab the ledge of a stage, and characters will have a near-fall animation when they stand on the edge of a platform. Victories are claimed by damaging and knocking characters off-screen or off a stage. The arcade mode just involves random battles, but they have a story/adventure mode, although none of the characters talk to each other. The stages are also basic, in which, although they have their hazards, they merely represent a single franchise.

PlayStation's All-Stars have four special attacks assigned to three different buttons, the characters cannot grapple opponents but they do have three different throws, and each character gets three Super Moves. Each character has their own unique playstyle, even the two Cole MacGraths play differently, thus excluding any clones. There are also characters with unique advantages: the Coles can attach to walls, Raiden can run op walls, Sly Cooper is unable to block at the advantage of turning invisible, and Kat is unable to double jump with the advantage of shifting which direction she falls. There are only three stages in which players can die from falling off of a stage, but their death doesn't count against them. Victories are claimed by using Super Attacks to kill opponents. Arcade Mode serves as the characters' story mode, and each character has a rival. The characters in this game have full dialogue. Stages are more dynamic in that, in addition to having their own hazards, are crossovers of more than one franchise, each with their own unique twist.

And that's pretty much the short and sweet of how these games vary.

I've come to see its not a rip off the games are actually more different than people give them credit for but you know the butt hurt nintendo fans always have to get mad when something similar to their games comes out like Sega allstars racing its way better than mario kart in my opinion not to mention who doesn't have a racing game? even LBP has one.

Or how about:

Ike vs Emmett (They're both mercenaries, CF is a bounty hunter)
Marth vs Radec (They're both soldiers, and have their armies to stop their invaders)
Palutena vs Zeus (They're both gods, but have their different powers)
Diddy Kong vs Parappa (They both listen to rap, as you can see for DKC 2 when you finish a boss, Diddy raps, but I would agree with thesmashbrother. Since both MR. G&W and Parappa are 2D)

I got nothing else. :)

ike and emmet is meh, (tbh I haven't a clue about fire emblem lol the most I've seen is one cutscene where Ike says 'whats wrong with you?' lol)
Marth vs radec (again fire emblem :P)
P vs Z pretty good
Diddy vs Parappa I think its pretty clear that Parappa and mr. game and watch have a 2D rivalry.

I got more.

Captain Falcon vs. Sweet Tooth (Both are racers (Well, Sweet Tooth is basically in the car combat arena, but in the new Twisted Metal on PS3, there's some racing mission that are painful to get through) and they went outside of racing/car combat to kill or defeat other individuals.

Mario vs. Nathan Drake (Both are pretty much iconic for Nintendo and Sony, although both have nothing in common. :/

Sackboy vs. Villager (Both are basically have the male and female variant of them and... there small. They also have some bizarre attacks too.

That's about it. Derp Meow

Toro would probably be a better match up for mario

my dream team has always been Sackboy and Kirby but villager makes enough sense.

1. To me, I think of them working together and fight off baddies to get their pay check! :D (Big Grin)
2. I couldn't help it, I just keep thinking of Fire Emblem and Killzone off top of my head! I love both of these franchises. I think Fire Emblem and Killzone would be a good mix in my opinion. I'll love to see have a game that is medieval, but with futuristic elements. (Fun Fact: Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and Killzone 2 both came out the same year(2009) and month(February) in the US! Shadow Dragon came out on my birthday which was February 16, while Killzone 2 was on the 27th.) SOO MUCH OFF TOP MY HEAD MOMENT!! XD
3. Damn straight. Palutena fight off the king of Olympus! End of story!
4. Yeah, I agree. But
